Vilamoura Roman Ruins

Cerro Da Vila Vilamoura as a resort maybe relatively young but the area has been of some importance for centuries. Evidence of this can be seen at Cerro Da Vila, an archaeological site in the heart of Vilamoura dating back to Roman times. The site is well worth a visit with remains of a Roman villa, bath houses, fish salting tanks, a port area and foundations of a funeral tower. Situated just 100 metres from the Marina, it can be a peaceful escape in the busy summer months. Opening times 9.30am-12.30am and 2.00pm-6.00pm. Entrance is €3.
